the steinways - ( nobody wants to) make out (with me because i wear sweatpants)
woke up reeeeeeeally early thursday morning and picked bridget up and drove her to school then went back to pams and went back to sleep. woke up later and went to work at noon to five. then after work i sped home, got changed and jenni came over and we went to the greatest basement show i may have ever been to. ran into will dailey and pat hannon there. pam even came after she got out of work, and that is what made the show all the better. i was so happy she got to come to one of the shows that weekend. the lineup was Full Of Fancy, Gordan Ganos Army (on tour with Lemuria, and were from England), Lemuria (really fucking great. so much better this time then the last time i saw them. and only played songs i knew). then Hunchback unannounced played there last new brunswick basement show ever. it was fucking nuts. so much fun. in fact i only knew two songs in there set, but still had so much fun. they closed with Werse Houses. so much fucking fun. then THE ERGS! played there last new brunswick basement show ever! and god fucking damnit it was a good fucking show. they played SO many great songs that they rarely ever or never play. the played, the charlie brown theme, Honolulu Hymms, If You Don't, 1000 Letters, Ben Kweller, Pool Pass (two times over the weekend). such a great fucking show. was up real close the entire time. 
friday morning i woke up late and sort of wasted most of the day away. picked sam up at the raritan train station around five or six and went straight to philly. picked up dave at city hall and went to the khyber, didn't have a ticket but i snuck in and got in right as the ergs! were going on. definitely a less active show, but it was good to see some of the guys from seasick there and to see tim burke and fid. pushed my way to the front. fuck all the people just standing around and not singing and not going total ape shit at the last fucking ergs! philly show ever. their fucking loss. after the show we went to kingdom and low and behold ran into brian, dale, jesse, theresa, bryan and other there. ryan came by later and hung out with us in the street as we stole donuts and texted chacha. then left and went back to jersey and slept at jenni's house that night. got there really late. stayed up even later. didn't get to ride quads. sam took pictures for some project.
we sort of ended up just starting board drama, and then breaking the board. slept in the basement that night.

played for almost an hour and a half. 
had three little video things in their set, one was beavis and butthead, one was the great white north, and one was kids in the hall. all funny,and the set was really good. but once again it was dominated by songs i didn't know. after that the ergs! played and it was a pretty great show. 
spent a lot of time just on the stage getting jumped on, and during a couple songs i jumped on people. lots of fun. show ended around three or four and we had LOTS of time to burn until the second show. me and hayley ended up driving all the way back to flemington, picking up pam and jess and getting pizza and eating it at pams. we hung out at pams until about 9 then left and went back down to asbury. doors were supoose to open at ten, but didn't until eleven. lemuria played first at the night show. played a really great set. very energetic. lots of fun. then hunchback played, used the same video clips, played most of the same songs. during the day set after a few songs jeff erg just left the stage for the old songs but during the night show they had a staged fight and then proceeded to kill him on stage. 
very interesting. but about halfway through the set hunchback got into a real fight and didn't finish there set. really unfortunate and awkward. then the ergs! played there last show (until the reunion show). and god fucking damnit it was a great show. 
played so many great fucking songs, goddamnit. mikey said at the parlor show that they were going to close with Upstairs/Downstairs (a song i've seen them play before, but they only play the minute or two with actual singing), but they did close with this, and they played all 18 minutes of it, and it came to be there by all the members of hunchback coming out on stage with them and playing, and then member of other bands and good friends all playing, which slowly lead to them all just destroying all of the instruments.
i, along with most of the crowd, was in complete awe. it was one of the most amazing things i have ever seen in my entire life. after that i took hayley home and then went to pams and went to sleep.
